Editorial Policy & How We Source Data

Verified against official sources By HolidaysSky Editorial

How we research, verify and update the holiday data and travel content on HolidaysSky.

Holiday data

Every public holiday date is sourced from the official national authority — typically a government gazette, labour ministry, or the published holiday law of that country. Where a holiday is observed on a substitute day, or where a bridge day is created, we record the rule that produced it rather than just the date.

Floating holidays — those set by lunar or religious calendars, such as Diwali, Lunar New Year, Easter and Eid — are re-verified every year and the page is updated rather than replaced.

Review cycle

  • Public holiday pages: reviewed at least twice a year, and immediately when a government announces a change.
  • Seasonal travel pages: reviewed quarterly.
  • Cost and budget figures: reviewed quarterly against current pricing.

Authorship

Travel and festival content is written by named contributors and reviewed by an editor before publication. Each page shows its author and its last-updated date.

Affiliate disclosure

HolidaysSky is reader-supported. Some outbound links are affiliate links: if you book or buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never determine which destinations, products or services we recommend, and where a link is an affiliate link we disclose it near the link.

Corrections policy

If you spot an error, email [email protected]. Verified corrections are published promptly, and material corrections are noted on the page.
